Pink Floyd were an english rock band formed in London in 1965. The original line-up featured Syd Barrett on guitar and vocals, Nick Mason on drums, Roger Waters on bass and vocals, and Richard Wright on Keyboards and vocals. They soon gained popularity in the underground scene of London with an eclectic mix of rhythm and blues, and a more experimental sound pioneered by their spiritual leader Syd Barrett.
Unfortunately Barrett became heavily involved in the growing acid scene in England at the time, and he parted ways with the band in 1968. With new frontman David Gilmour, Pink Floyd went under new management. Roger Waters now took over the vocal responsibilities going forward and for the recording of their second album, “ A Saucerful Of Secrets”.
Over the years Pink Floyd have inspired musicians from all genres, with their unique and groundbreaking style of music. It's no surprise that there have been almost countless books written and documentaries filmed about the enigmatic english psyc rockers. And for us their songwriting prowess, the “no fear” style of diving into experimental rock and pushing the boundaries of what could be done in terms of live production is very inspiring. So from us here at Talking Waves, Thank You. Now go listen to some Floyd today!
